We’re hoping we can get this film to a theatre here in Calgary!
Why wait? That’s what we figured. We may not have a hall yet, but we certainly have the means to start promoting regular shows, so we figured it was time to kick out the jams. After deliberation at our last meeting, we decided to begin the Final Friday Show Series: on the last Friday of every month Joe Strummer Memorial Society Presents will host a show at the Scarboro Community Association. We added some pages to this website as well. We now have a SHOWS page for show listings and a BOOKINGS page for all the bands who might want to play.
Last, but not least, we are also issuing a call-out for volunteers. We need people to help with postering and staffing the shows. All volunteers will get into the show they are working on for free, but we need people who will be responsilbe for the jobs they take on and see them through.
